Research Profile

Dr Abid Bangesh obtained his PhD from Edith Cowan University (ECU), WA, Australia, in 2023. His thesis examines “The Concept and Role of Meaningful Work in the Context of the Public Healthcare Sector of Pakistan.” He is working now as a Research Associate at Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) – an ECU Industry Collaboration Centre for the Mining Sector. Abid has more than 14 years of experience in human resources, mental health awareness, medical relief, and community work. He has held diverse positions, including HR advisor, educationist, writer, and entrepreneur. In these roles, he led numerous successful professional and community initiatives and volunteer projects. Abid’s teaching repertoire covers Healthy Work and Wellbeing, Managing Change, Human Resource Management Fundamentals, and Organisational Behaviour. Beyond teaching, Abid has worked as an investigator on multiple research projects, including sustainability in project portfolio management within the extractive sector, psychosocial safety climate, leadership, and work engagement. He is dedicated to advancing the ECU-Industry collaboration and extending research on mental health and safety within the mining sector.
